Saving my Bridal Bouquet

I'm not a nostalgic person.

But then again, I realized, I am.

As I was busy wedding planning, I never thought about what I would do to my bouquet after the wedding. I didn't pay any attention if I would preserve it, put it on a glass box, dry/press it, etc.

So now, my bouquet has dried, obviously. And I am now having second thoughts of discarding it. I searched the Internet and found what I could do with my bouquet. I can make it as a potpourri.

Here are the directions which I will follow from tipnut.

Hopefully, I could keep my flowers longer and I could put it in our future home. But for now, my potpourri will be a cute décor in our apartment.

Status and Surname Update

I am now in the process of updating my personal documents. Yes it's kinda late but better now than never, right?

I requested an authenticated Marriage Certificate (MC) from the National Statistics Office (NSO) through its website, www.e-census.com.ph. It's pretty easy to request any document and you can pay through banks, online and credit card. The documents will be delivered within 3-7 days, depending on your location. Once I receive my MC, I can now photocopy it and submit it together with the other government forms.

After this, I'll request a new company ID and apply for a passport (even if I have no concrete plans of travelling abroad this year).

Cross stitch Project

To do something creative to pass the time away, I decided to do a cross stitch project.

Our Home Economics class in third year high school introduced me to the art of cross stitching. I did a not-so-nice job at my first project. I didn't know how to go about stitching a pink rose. I wasn't able to buy the exact shade of pink which I first bought. And, my classmates and I never knew that cross stitch patterns were available in the market! Toinks!

Since then, I learned my lessons. I have done several cross stitch projects. I did waterfalls, cherubim and graduate on a rocket (never finished).

Now, I'm doing a new project called “Newlyweds”. I got a free pattern from the DMC website. I plan to finish this project before the Cook comes back home. And, hopefully, we could hang it on our future home.

Welcome Von and Lisa!

I would like to welcome my friends Von and Lisa to the Married World! They tied the knot last March 27 in Davao. Wish I could've been there and witness this marvelous event.

To you my friends, may you have more wonderful years together! Mwah!

Of Churches and Broas

After the river cruise, we went to Baclayon Church via jeep. It's one of the oldest church in the Philippines.

Before entering the church, we saw a lady selling candles. The candles are color-coded, with each color signifying a person's wish. We bought one candle for Life (we were praying for a baby) and one for Health (for good health). After saying our silent prayers, we entered the church.

Inside the Baclayon Church was dim, with only a few lights on. We have fellow tourists taking pictures of the altar, church decorations and saints. Some of the saints, we recognized. Some, we didn't.

We bought tickets to enter the Baclayon Museum which is adjacent to the church. A ticket costs P25. Inside the Baclayon Museum was a collection of church paraphernalia such as old manuscripts, candelabras, clothes used to dress statues of saints, etc.

Osang's Broas

I read that Bohol is also famous for its broas or lady fingers and a bakery called “Osang's” has the best broas. Osang's Homemade Pastries is located behind the Baclayon Church. Stacks of old firewood marks this store. You won't notice that the store is inside. We bought four packs of broas at P100 each. Each package has 100 pcs of broas. Yum-yum!
