Question

How can I plan a wedding when at the back of my head there is a nagging thought that the wedding will be postponed again for the nth time?

Silent vs. Secret

Judy Ann and Ryan's wedding caught us by surprise. But that's the type of wedding that I want. A “silent” wedding.

In an interview, Fr. Tito Caluag, who officiated the wedding ceremony of the celebrity couple said that the couple had a “silent” wedding. Silent wedding is different from a Secret wedding.

In a Secret wedding, only the couple and a few witnesses know of the wedding. No one else should know about it. However, in a silent wedding, the marrying couple and a few selected family members and friends know of the wedding. It is intimate, solemn and simple. After the ceremony, the couple could then tell other people that they already tied the knot.
As for me...a silent wedding in the province? It's like being in a Mission Impossible movie. (wink)
P.S.
I think more and more celebrity couples are doing silent weddings like Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams last March and now Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard. Maybe because silent weddings are more personal and practical.

Bachelor no More

I just heard news that my long-time bachelor cousin is getting married this May. Short engagement. Simple wedding. The couple wanted a very small and intimate wedding. If they can have their way, they wanted to have a civil wedding just to keep it simple.

It seems more and more couples are going to the simple and intimate route when it comes to weddings. Practicality and sensibility.
