Casa Rica Hotel in Vigan

Casa Rica Hotel is an ancestral house converted into a boutique hotel. It has ten rooms only making it a relaxing haven for tourists.

Based on the pictures online, Casa Rica Hotel looks small compared to other hotels we've been in. I booked it nevertheless since the room rate was within our budget and it was located somewhat near Calle Crisologo where tourists go.

There were two hotel staff when we arrived at the hotel. Our room was on the second floor and we immediately fell in love with our room!

The room was small (20sqm), I admit, but I liked the coziness it brought to our stay. Some may be turned off with the size of the room, but for us, it was no problem.

The windows had two sets of curtains: sheer and thick, depending on the type of privacy you prefer. I want to replicate this at home.

Here's what the view from our room window looked like early in the morning. So serene, right?

For breakfast, we had Vigan longganisa, fried egg and rice. They offered other viands but we chose the longganisa.

Please remember that Casa Rica is not like the usual hotels you find in the city. Casa Rica has limited staff and facilities. Think of having a sleepover at a Tita's house--that's how a stay at this boutique hotel feels like.

For example, they only had one person stationed at night. She attended to the guests' requests and received guests who came in late. When I asked for a cup of hot water (for tea), she had to turn on the water dispenser so I could have my hot water. :)

LIKES:
- location
- ambiance

DISLIKES:
- few hotel staff = longer waiting time for requests
- budget-size breakfast
