Baluarte, Hidden Garden, Pagburnayan

On our second day in Vigan, we visited Baluarte, Hidden Garden and the Pagburnayan Pottery.

After a breakfast of Vigan longganisa and egg at Casa Rica, we hired a tricycle to Baluarte. Rent fee: P50.

Even if we came in early--many shops were still closed and the staff at Baluarte are not yet ready--there were already many tourists inside Baluarte. There was no entrance fee.

We saw a white lion, tigers, ostrich, deer, peacocks, geese, kangaroos, and other wildlife.

Then, we walked up a hill and went inside the Safari Gallery. Honestly, I am not a fan of taxidermied animals which this building had a lot on display. Many wild animals from other continents shot dead just to be displayed in the gallery. (*sad*)

I couldn't take it and I just sat in a corner while Hubby explored the collection. To console me, he said that there was a time when hunting was a tourist attraction in some countries but now, it is banned.

Next, we hired another tricycle to Hidden Garden. The driver gave us a package to bring us to Hidden Garden, Pagburnayan, and the public market for P160. We agreed.

Hidden Garden boasts of beautiful plants. It also has a restaurant which I read serves great food, but since we were pressed for time, we just strolled along the garden.

Then, at Pagburnayan Pottery, we were hoping to watch a potter at work but there was already a group of tourists trying to shape a vase on the wheel. We didn't see much here.
